Connections Counselling was set up in 1997 and is run by James and Nina Rye in King's Lynn, Norfolk.
Counselling & Psychotherapy Hours We offer counselling & psychotherapy appointments (face-to-face, email, telephone, or secure chat) during the following hours:
Monday-Friday 09:00-12:00, 14:00-17:00, 19:00-21:00
Saturday 10:00-12:00
Counsellor and Psychotherapy Accreditation, Training & Experience

James Rye, BACP, accredited, counsellor, psychotherapist, cbt, senior James Rye BA, MA, M.Phil, PGCE, MBACP (Snr.Accred.), UKRCP Reg. Ind. Counsellor/ Psychotherapist, has undertaken training in Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT) and Transactional Analysis (TA). He has an MA in Humanistic Counselling Studies from Nottingham University. He is a Senior Accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and adheres to its code of Ethics and Professional Practice. He is also registered Independent Counsellor/Psychotherapist (UKRCP).

James has recently completed training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) at the University of East Anglia. He also works as a counsellor / psychotherapist supervisor and has a Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Supervision from the University of Derby. He has also completed a foundation course in Solution-focused Brief Therapy at BRIEF in London.

James is currently an Executive Committee Member for the Private Practice Division within the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. He is a Director at Connections Counselling Ltd and a Partner in Peterborough Counsellor Training.

Nina Rye BSc, MA, PGCE has an MA in Non-directive Play Therapy from the University of York and is a registered Play Therapist with BAPT . As well as working with private clients, Nina also receives referrals from Adoption Agencies, Social Services, Schools, and Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services. Part of her work involving Filial Therapy is featured in the BBC Documentary series 'Child of Our Time'. She also offers supervision to play therapists and to counsellors working with children.

As is the practice of all reputable counsellors and psychotherapists, James and Nina receive regular confidential supervision from senior practitioners for their counselling, psychotherapy, play therapy, and filial therapy work.

Counselling & Psychotherapy Approaches We offer a variety of counselling and psychotherapy approaches but are committed to starting where the clients are and to working in a way which they feel comfortable with. Broadly speaking we adopt humanistic and cognitive (CBT) approaches.
